Automotive suppliers
The running line
When a critical supplier fails, your line runs only as long as your stock lasts. The Supplier Scan asks, supplier by supplier: would you see it, decide and recover before then?
The clock: Days of stock
Playbook: fictional demoCheck where your AI is stuck →Watching is not the same as being in time
A warning reaches nobody.
A tool sees the risk, but no one is bound to act on it.
A second source feels safe.
Switching can still take longer than the stock lasts.
Some suppliers are watched by nothing.
A critical supplier, and no tool looking at it.
Nobody knows how long recovery takes.
So nobody knows whether there is time.
The rule is one line: the days of stock must cover the days to see the problem, decide and recover.
Automotive supplier · fictional
Muster Antriebswerk, taken through the Scan
An invented plant with 12 suppliers and 5 tools watching them. Of the 8 critical suppliers, 1 is safe.
Run the Supplier Scan- Too slow, 3. The wiring harness supplier has a qualified alternative and is still 4 days short: 10 days of stock, 14 needed.
- Not routed, 2. The warning arrives after 30 days and goes to nobody who decides.
- Unseen, 1. The semiconductor supplier is watched by no tool.
- Unknown, 1. Nobody has stated how long the gearbox parts take to recover. The Scan shows it as unknown and does not guess.
- Safe, 1. The bearings supplier: 30 days of stock, 18 needed.
Every supplier not in time gets a decision before the Scan ends: an option, a named person and a date. Or the risk is accepted, by name.
What the Scan settles
12 suppliers, 5 watching tools, one warning followed down two paths, and a decision for every supplier not in time.
Automotive supplier · fictional
- Every critical supplier with its stock, owner and watcher
- The race: would you see it, decide and recover in time?
- One warning followed down today's path and the governed one
- A decision for every supplier not in time: a plan B, or the risk accepted by name
- On top of Catena-X: the data moves, the Scan settles who acts
What it does not do
- It does not predict which supplier will fail. It tells you whether you would be in time if one did.
- It never puts a supplier on hold or stops a payment. A named person decides.
- It does not need Catena-X. If you are on it, the Scan sits on top.
- No supplier has run it yet. Muster Antriebswerk is invented.

What changes in every industry
Know what you protect
Every Scan starts with the thing that must not stop: a line, a delivery date, a regulated service. Then it counts the days you have.
Owners, not dashboards
Every warning gets a named owner and a deadline. A tool that sees a risk nobody is bound to act on is a finding, not a control.

Questions
We already have a supplier risk tool. Why this?
The tool sees. The Scan checks whether what it sees reaches a person who can act in time. It works on top of the tools you run.
Do our suppliers have to do anything?
No. The Scan works from your own register: stock, watchers, owners and the days each step takes.
Do we need to be on Catena-X?
No. If you are, the Scan sits on top of it. If not, it works from the tools you run today.
What data do you need?
Your own register: critical suppliers or AI use cases, the tools that watch them, and who owns them. A spreadsheet is enough to start.
Is this an AI product?
It is a method with an engine. AI can shorten the days it takes to see a warning; a person always decides.
What does it cost?
The Scan has a fixed price between €15,000 and €25,000, set by ten published drivers. You see the rule before you sign.
Has this been used with clients?
Every case on this page is fictional and labelled so. Each industry shows how far it is proven, and that only changes with a paid Scan.
